Road   

 As a result of the key location of Hertfordshire to the north of London, it benefits from many of the UK's national motorways running through its county lines. The A1 route provides access right up through Scotland via Yorkshire, while the A5 and A6 provide routes to the North West. The A41 also serves as a direct access route to the Midlands.
 

Rail     

 Similarly, the rail network in Hertfordshire is particularly strong, with links to Yorkshire, Glasgow, the Midlands, Wales and of course London, all with regular and direct train routes to bolster the already strong transport links within Hertfordshire.
 

Air 

 Hertfordshire enjoys access to Stansted and Luton airports, two of the UK's busiest, which offer both domestic and international flights to a variety of routes and are located justed a short distance beyond the county limits.
 

Ferries 

 While there are no ferry routes leaving from Hertfordshire, the strong transport links both north and south make it easy to travel to any southern ferry port. Additionally, the Grand Union Canal system runs throughout Hertfordshire, provide access for boating tours and light cargo.
